My Rating: 4 Stars This magical cosy-mystery was impossible for me to put down! This is the first time I read a novel from Ms Hesse and it was a treat! The fast-paced plot and it's wonderful characters made it impossible to stop reading. The story turns around Keli, the main female protagonist, in her struggle to keep her religion and work separated. Being a very private person about her beliefs and religion, Keli faces a challenge when the Wiccan shop Moonstone Treasures is vandalised and her friend Mari asks for her help. Should she help her Wiccan friend at the risk of exposure and possible ruin or should she just refuse? As Keli goes deeper in the investigation, she is faced with a choice: her life or the revelation of her beliefs. It's impossible not to fall in love with Keli. I think everyone can relate to the fear of being target of teasing or mocking for liking a book, a movie, for believing something different. Keli's struggles are very believable and her fear of losing that she knows and cares about really makes you question how far are you willing to hide and leave in fear of being who you are to fit in. Keli is very smart, ruled both by logic and by the love for her friends. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Keli and her two friends Farrah and Wes. Their relationship is amazing, it really have me a warm feeling specially at the end of the book. The end of the novel was surprising and very satisfying, for sure and I can't wait to read the next adventure of "A Wiccan Wheel Mystery" series. An amazing cosy-mystery to read and re-read! Thank you NetGalley, the publisher Kensington, and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book.

My Rating: 4 Stars A humorous and entertaining paranormal book! I would go as far as saying it's a cosy mystery with a few ghosts in the mix. This was the first book I have read from Ms Angie Fox and the Verity Long collection but it can be read has a stand-alone. Ms Fox gives all the background information, complete with references to events that took place in the previous books. To summarise: Verity Long is trying out her new self-appointed job as a ghost hunter, but without much success until her luck changes. Her first job comes in a form of a mansion with a few not-so-friendly ghosts inside. Accompanied by her ghost-gangster Frankie, she will find the hard way that some ghosts have some very nasty temperaments and they that they can make life very difficult even for those trying to help. Set in a mansion that hasn't been occupied in 100 years, Verity's mission is to find out why are the ghosts attached to the house and how to release them, without becoming a ghost herself in the process. A very entertaining read! The story-line is very good and Ms Fox makes it very difficult to guess who or what is behind the whole ghost problem. The twists make it even more interesting and the humorous situations let you have a good laugh. I really liked Frankie as a character and a ghost-companion, he is simply hilarious. His sarcasm is brilliant and brings some spice to the story. He definitely makes Verity's life more interesting especially when he tries to be funny in moments where they should be scared. I definitely want to read the next book and I'll probably go find the previous ones because I would like to know in more detail how Verity ended up with Frankie! Read it, it's very worth it! Thank you NetGalley and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book. My Rating: 4 Stars Jamie Quinn is back! As she picks up the family business again, she handles a divorce case that takes a turn to the worse, a turn to murder. Being the second novel of the series of Jaimie Quinn mysteries, The Case of the Killer Divorce is just as good as the first one. Jaimie is amazing and Duke is still the same handsome devil. It's an quick read, just as gripping as the first with a few unexpected turns and twists. The descriptions and details are not too much and it really gives a lot of depth to the fields of law and the emotional charge of not knowing who one of your parents is. A cosy mystery that I recommend! My Rating: 5 Stars I highly enjoyed this cosy mystery novel, from the characters to the settings. The title is definitely very original and sparked my interest as soon as I saw it. Jamie is an amazing main character, she's funny, authentic and I enjoyed the numerous expressions and comebacks she comes up with. As for Duke, I must say, it's one of my favorite type of male lead, he is loyal and a sweetheart but at the same time he brings spark to Jamie's life and to the story itself. The crime in itself is well thought as well. The level of suspense and the build-up works out perfectly to a great ending, leaving no loose ends. Definitely, recommend it and I will definitely start the second novel right away. I want to thank Barbara Venkataraman for giving me sending me a digital copy of her novel. My Rating: 5 Stars You're definitely going to eat up this cosy mystery and not even feel guilty about it! The plot is very simple: Marley McKinney helps her cousin run her pancake house while he's in the hospital. When Jimmy is murdered, Marley is determined to do everything in her power and ability to find the killer. I really enjoyed Sarah Fox's writing style, not only for the plot but for the description of the characters, the environment. She makes it very very difficult to guess who the killer is by presenting a wide number of great and developed characters that, as the story goes on, all seem to be guilty! The reader will not know who to trust, that is for sure. I'm looking forward to reading the next books of the Pancake House Mysteries. A very enjoyable read that I highly recommend! Thank you NetGalley, the publisher Alibi, and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book. My Rating: 4 Stars This was my first novel written by Paula Paul and I definitely want to read her previous and next works. A great cozy mystery that will leave you hanging for more, with brilliant twists and a very unexpected ending. I really got got into this story even though in the beginning it was a bit hard. However, the story recovers quickly with flow of the events. I really like the fact that there is a bit of romance in there but it's not the main line of the book, it just completes the story perfectly. The characters definitely add the spice to it all, very well described with a quick background description that I would like to see in more detail in the sequels. The story is very easy to follow without getting lost in the plot or the characters. The reader will keep guessing who did it and why and in the end you will never see it coming. A cozy mystery worth the read! Thank you NetGalley, the publisher Alibi, and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book. My Rating: 5 Stars This book is the perfect definition of a "Cosy Mystery". Secrets, friendship, murder and an amazing reference to the Queen of Mystery herself, Agatha Christie. Everything in the story comes together perfectly, from the cosy bookshop to the realistic characters. The touch of romance gives it an additional spark to all the twists and turns of the mystery story. I really felt the spark between Marc and Charley. I really liked her as the main character and her charming personality. It was impossible not to connect with her and admire her loyalty. This book felt like a painting in motion, full of colour and impossible to stop looking to see what comes next. Addictive, brilliant cosy mystery that I highly recommend! Definitely, deserves the 5 stars. Thank you NetGalley, the publisher Alibi, and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book. My Rating: 4 Stars I found this book my local library. The cover got my attention and the title as well since it reminded me of the title of Agatha Christie. I had no idea it was the second book in the beginning, unfortunately, the library only has this volume. It was an enjoyable read, but it was difficult for me to get into it. Loved the setting and the twists of the story. It's humorous and witty and for me, it classifies for "Cosy Mystery Novel". I am curious to read the previous book though. My Rating: 5 Stars This book was absolutely amazing, I couldn't put it down. When I saw it at the bookstore the cover immediately got my attention (it's beautifully made!) and it's like answering a calling. As a book lover, when the story setting is set on an old, enchanted bookshop, building suspense and a murder, I'm hooked. This was the first book I read from Amanda Flowers and she didn't disappoint at all. The building-up of the plot, the wonderful characters and the descriptions are amazingly written. I fell in love with Violet, she is a wonderful character, stubborn, witty and of course, her passion for literature. Her reasons not to go back to the small town of Cascade Springs are definitely legit and I really like how the character deals with her traumatic past and the problems in the present. After I read this book, I would definitely like to have my own magical bookshop. The mystery in the story is also very interesting, especially because it includes the historical details of the town which makes it more interesting. It's a steady paced story with an amazing build-up of suspense and the characters just make the reader love it even more. It's a cosy mystery book that you don't want to miss! I can't wait for the sequel! My Rating: 4 Stars Liss Ruskin is eager for the annual Moosetookalook Highland Games, but the excitement is quickly replaced with worry and fear. When a fire breaks out at the bookstore where, in the same building, Liss's friends and their children that live a floor above are put in grave danger. Things get even worse when no bodies are found. Liss attends the games in hopes of a distraction from her worries, but things keep going down hill when a gunshot is heard and body of loathed Jason Graye is found at his house. Are the crimes related? I really enjoyed this book. The way it is writing and the great plot instigate curiosity and thrill. It definitely worth reading!
