My Rating: 5 Stars An amazing book that I simply couldn't put down. This is the type of story that you keep saying to yourself "just one last chapter before going to sleep. -One hour later- I swear this is last chapter" and you keep on going until morning until there are no chapters left. To quickly summarize: A cursed tribal Relic is found in the rainforest of Brazil ad it's brought to New York. Just a few days before the opening of a grand exhibition at the New York Museum of Natural History, visitors are brutally killed in the dark hallways of the museum's basement. By the state of the bodies, it's confirmed that whatever killed them has not human. Can the killer be found before the grand exhibit? And most importantly, can it be stopped? Absolutely fell in love with the character of Pendergast, witty and quiet but there it's difficult not to like Margo Green and Vincent D’Agosta and how they come together to solve the murders. and the place where the whole story happens, the New York Museum of Natural History. I would say this is between thriller/horror/fantasy, the perfect combo in my opinion. The bottom line of this story is "some things are better left where they are". A great read and I highly recommend it!
