My Rating: 4 Stars There very few things that get to me in a horror setting, but two things that take away my sleep is little children and mirrors. Even so, went I read the description and recognized the author, I knew I needed to read it no matter what. It was intense and engaging, I wasn't expecting the strong sexual content and some very strong gory scenes, but they went well with the story. I appreciated the mix of the two timelines, the present and the 16th century in England, it really gave the feeling of old evil and horrors. The story is very intense, well paced with intense events, both gory and sexual. I really liked the main character and the development of his obsession and madness along with the involvement of Manny Frazer in the evil plan of the mirror. On the other hand, the final character, for me, should have been introduced a bit earlier. It would have been more logical to me to have a finale with one of the characters I grew familiar with. I think the ending was a bit rushed and could have been described more deeply. In general, I really enjoyed the book and I recommend it! Thank you NetGalley, the publisher Tor Books, and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book.
