My Rating: 4 Stars Brilliant, simply impossible to put down. The level of suspense made it impossible not to connect with the characters and the plot. I think it's the first true political plot that I have read so far in Agatha Christie novels and I highly enjoyed it. Everyone wants to know the Count's memoirs, fearing what they may contain and they will do everything in their power to get it! It's what makes the story so addictive. The environment just leaks suspense and intrigue. Furthermore, the characters are just as intriguing as the plot, and it keeps the reader guessing how is responsible for the murders. The main character Anthony Cain adds the salt and the pepper to this story with his British humour, witty comments along with Superintendent Battle that reveals to be an unexpected character. In some parts, it was impossible not to laugh out loud! Another addictive delight from the Queen of Mysteries!
