My Rating: 3 Stars
Honestly, I had mixed feelings for this book. I think I was expecting something a bit different. Even though it's a second volume, it can be read as a stand-alone since the author gives all the details of past events and parts of main events on the lives of the main characters.
I had problems getting into the story even if the plot was quite good. I felt that in some scenes in the novel that are rushed and miss the depth of emotion that one would be expecting in the romantic scenes or even in the disappearance of someone dear.
On the other hand, for the plot, I enjoyed that it's not that easy to figure out who kidnapped Anne and the situation becomes more and more complex with the finding of new information.
Another thing I enjoyed was the family parts in the novel. I think it brings out the character of Tanaka when he's with his son, Tommy, and his boyfriend Jeremy. I still think a bit more of emotion would have made it even better.
